Bengaluru: The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has announced a Rs 7,977.8 crore interim budget for the period from September 2025 to March 2026, with East Bengaluru receiving the biggest allocation.
According to The Times of India, the East Corporation has been allotted Rs 1,766 crore, followed by West, North, Central and South zones. Major expenditure areas include public works, solid waste management and urban planning.
Officials noted that with many tenders and payments already sanctioned, the new corporations will have limited flexibility for additional projects. They also emphasised the need for the corporations to generate independent revenue streams.
