Cuttack: VK Pandian, chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, conducted an inspection of Barabati Stadium on Wednesday, reviewing proposed designs and drawings for its upcoming renovation. The visit included discussions with Pranab Prakash Das, MLA and president of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and Sanjay Behera, secretary of OCA.
During the inspection, Pandian explored various facilities within Barabati Stadium, engaging in conversations with players and coaches of the Odisha Cricket Team. He affirmed the commitment to renovate the stadium’s infrastructure and address cricket-related matters collaboratively with OCA.
Pandian also interacted with basketball players, emphasising the comprehensive transformation of Taladanada Canal and SCB Medical College & Hospital in the city. He assured that Barabati Stadium would evolve into a modern, international-standard cricket facility.
He also addressed the lingering land issue surrounding Barabati Stadium, assuring that it would be resolved. The collaborative effort of BCCI, OCA and OOA, under the patronage of the state government, will oversee the stadium’s construction into a state-of-the-art facility.
