KRK was taken into custody by the Oshiwara police on Saturday morning.
Mumbai: Actor Kamaal Rashid Khan, widely known as KRK, was taken into custody by the Oshiwara police on Saturday morning following a firing incident reported in Mumbai’s Andheri locality earlier this month.
According to deputy commissioner of police (Zone 9) Dikshit Gedam, KRK admitted during questioning that the shots were accidentally discharged from his licensed gun while he was cleaning it at home. Police have since confiscated the firearm and initiated further legal proceedings in the matter.
The incident dates back to January 18, when two bullets struck Nalanda Society in Oshiwara. One bullet was discovered inside a second-floor apartment owned by a writer-director, while the other was found on the fourth floor, where a model resides. Fortunately, no one was injured in the episode.
An 18-member team from Oshiwara police station, led by senior inspector Sanjay Chavan, conducted a detailed probe along with multiple crime branch units. While initial CCTV footage did not provide any breakthrough, forensic examination later suggested that the bullets were likely fired from KRK’s bungalow. This forensic lead helped investigators identify the actor as the primary suspect in the case.
