Bhubaneswar: MUKTASoft, a web-based application after its successful pilot testing at Dhenkanal and Jatani municipalities, will soon be rolled out in 25 more ULBs of the state.

The state government has designed and developed the app for streamlining the implementation and facilitating quick payment to the stakeholders involved with Mukhya Mantri Karma Tatpara Abhiyan (MUKTA).

MUKTA, flagship programme of Government of Odisha, and first of its kind in India that focuses on ensuring livelihood opportunities to the vulnerable urban workforce and migrant labourers residing in 115 urban areas of the state.

As part of the rollout process, orientation of master trainers consisting of members of state MUKTA PMU and selected officials of these 25 ULBs has started. These master trainers would subsequently be instrumental in imparting training of the ULB officials and CBOs involved in MUKTA for smooth implementation of MUKTASoft.

G Mathivathanan, principal secretary, Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) department said that Odisha is the first state in the country to design a wage employment scheme in line with the MGNREGS.

The scheme has undergone many changes based on the feedbacks received from ground. The prime objective of design and development of MUKTASoft has been to automate various processes adopted for implementation of MUKTA, he added.

A total of 300 resource persons from 25 ULBs have been selected for training in five batches, informed Sarada Prasad Panda, director State Urban Development Agency (SUDA).

He said that the training programme started on October 9 and will continue till October 13.
